About Us

The Ferry Boat is a JD Wetherspoon pub which opened its doors on 27th November 2006.

The pub is situated in the Church Street at the site of what used to be Kwik Save, and got its name from the ferry which used to carry passengers between Runcorn and Widnes.

Established around 1178, the ferry boat was the only way to cross the Mersey and it carried passengers across the river for centuries until the opening of the Transporter Bride in 1905.

The Ferry Boat serves meals daily from 9.00am until late in the evening. See our Food Menu page for more details. As well as the usual drinks found in a lot of pubs, we also stock a large variety of cast ales. See our Drinks page for more details.
